Machame Route 6-Day Dec 3
We have a 6-Day Machme Route climb provisionally set for Dec 3 2008 with space for a few pax. This is an off-beat itinerary since Machame is usually a 7-day climb and if you lose a day that toughens up the score and makes this a trip for young and fit climbers.
Machame is one of the longer outfield trails, coming in from the south and veering west to pick up on the Shira/Lemosho trail. It is usually regarded as the most scenically appealing, and advantageous in the matter of altitude adjustment. This is thanks to the fact that you gain several thousand feet in altitude during the first day of climbing which often deals with the worst of altitude adjustment early. Thereafter the gradient is more forgiving.
This is a specific group, and if you want to test yourself on a challenging trail and not be held up by sissies or grannies then email me or fill in a Climb Kilimanjaro Form and I will get straight back to you with the trip specs and details.
New Years Eve Summit
There are still a few spots left on the BWA New years Eve Summit 2008/9 so email me or fill out a Kilimanjaro Climb Form. This promises to be a spectacular climb in the company of interested and interesting travelers. Included will be a brief safari to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. We will approach the summit via the Lemosho Route, and on New Years day will watch the sunrise on 2009 from Uhuru Peak.
February/March 2009 – Lemosho Route
We are looking for a maximum of four climbers to join a Lemosho Route Climb departing 16 February. This is a cool but dry time of the year with an excellent chance for a rain free summit. The air is crisp and clear, the views endless and the mountain quiet before the peak European holiday season. This will be a great climb so email me today or fill in a Climb Kilimanjaro Form and I will get in touch with the trip specs.
Boomers 55 plus Summit, August/September 2009 – Marangu Route
If you think you are too old think again. It is never too late to summit a big mountain. The oldest recorded summiteer was 87-year old Frenchman Valtée Daniel, but climbers from 55 to 70-years old regularly attempt the summit, and regularly suceed. Join BootsnAll Worldwide Adventures (BWA) on a guided and fully supported summit of Kilimanjaro. The provisional route is Marangu, but group consensus will be considered. Email me or fill out a Kilimanjaro Climb Form and I will get in touch with all the trip specs and details.
Any boomers or oldies who would like to set a date and start a compatible group to climb with others of similar age and disposition, let me know and I will get the ball rolling…!
Lemosho Route/Western Breach/Crater Camp - September 2009
This is the hardcore version of the Kilimanjaro summit. The Lemosho Route is the longest of the outfield Kili trails and is arguably the most beautiful. To add zest to the challenge we will be charting a route through the Western Breach, and spending a night at Crater Camp at an altitude of 18996ft. This climb is not for lightweights! Email me or fill out a Climb Kilimanjaro Form and I will get back to you with the trip specs.
New years Eve Summit 2009/10
Greet the new decade from the roof of Africa! BWA annual New Years Summit will get you to the top via Lemosho Route from where you can watch the sun rise on a new decade from Uhuru Peak.
